Manny Ramirez still being Manny
Manny Ramirez has had quite a career so far.
He is currently with the Los Angeles Dodgers, but is in the last year of his contract. Ramirez has made lighthearted comments about having five more seasons with him, two in MLB, and two in Japan. This comes after previous comments that Manny made about this being his last season with the Dodgers, and possibly his last season in professional baseball.
Ramirez is 37, and has had 17 seasons in the MLB. He has been a World Series MVP before, and also played with Boston for a good chunk of his career. Manny has made remarks that he knows he won’t be with Los Angeles come next year, but he’s not sure what he will do with his career.
Ramirez is hoping to focus on the needs of this year and see what he wants to do at the end of the season. Manny is in an odd predicament. He knows that if he doesn’t play this well, the Dodgers probably wouldn’t want him back anyway. On the other hand, if he puts up All-Star numbers then as much as Los Angeles would like to re-sign him, they are in a financial situation that probably wouldn’t allow it.
Manny has been known to be a playful character, and no one is sure about what move he will make. For the sake of MLB fans, hopefully he has an incredible season and opts to play for a new team for a few more years before he leaves the sport and takes away all of those wonderful baseball prop bets.
