San Diego Padres with a 10-5 win over Los Angeles Dodgers have edge past the Angeles in the two game match series. Adrian Gonzalez had a career-high six RBIs and he seems to think that his swing has finally come around to the level he expected it to be. Including a triple and two doubles, Will Venable had four hits. The Dodgers‘ nine-game winning streak was put to an emphatic end, on Wednesday night. Against George Sherrill, Gonzalez added a run-scoring single in the ninth. After averaging 106 over the previous three seasons, He came in with only 19 RBIs.
“He had a little lull there for a little while, but it’s no secret he’s our guy, one thing about Adrian, he’s always in control. In addition, when things are not going right, he knows it is just a matter of time before it does. We look for him to get those big knocks and get some runs on the board. He did a great job of that tonight, and he’s going to continue to do it”, said Venable.
In five innings, the right-hander, Jon Garland allowed four runs and nine hits and has 5-0 with a 1.67 ERA over his last six starts. Without major league batting leader Andre Ethier absent, Dodgers are felt his need in the game.

“Buddy’s put me there before, so it’s a spot that I’m comfortable with, Buddy called me into the office before the game and told me to just stick with the approach I’ve been taking. Luckily it worked out tonight, so I’ll see how it goes from here on out “, said Venable.
