Tampa Bay Rays vs. Seattle Mariners (10:40 pm ET, FSN)

Seattle Mariners look to level the series in Game 2 (10:40 pm ET, FSN) of the 3 Game series vs. Tampa Bay Rays at Safeco Field, Seattle, Washington. Currently Rays lead by 1-0. The Rays have a home record of 19-7, 10-1 away record and Mariners have 11-15 away, 7-6 home record.

Although Rays don’t have a good record in Seattle but they did well to win Game 1. The win will definitely give the team a positive boost. The Rays (19-7) go into the Game 2, seeking their first series win in Seattle since taking three of four Aug. 8-10, 2008.

While going a major league-best-9-1 on the road, the Rays have average 6.9 runs. They definitely look to improve it this season. Key player for Rays is James Shields (3-0, 3.38 ERA). Against the Seattle, in his six starts, he is 2-2 with a 2.34 ERA.

The Seattle Mariners must win Game 2 to stay alive in the series. They just can’t allow Rays to get past them. Mariners hope that call-ups Ryan Langerhans and Josh Wilson will provide the much needed boost to the team. The team dropped struggling veteran Eric Byrnes and sent Matt Tuiasosopo to Triple-A Tacoma. Chone Figgins will also play a crucial role. He is 6 for 17 versus Shields.
