AL Central – Kansas City Royals

The 2009 season is gone and it’s time for a completely new season for the Kansas City Royals. Last year was a blend of both, good and bad performances for the Royals. However, it settled for a tie at the last place in the entire division. This new season, the team looks forward to having a rotation with its players for a surely better performance for its fans.

The royals have a different lineup this year with Rick Ankiel, Scott Podsednik and Jason Kendall joining at the starting positions. Ankiel will be taking over the charge in the center field while Podsednik who revived his entire career anew with the Whit Cox in the last season will be taking the lead. However, the reason for taking up Kendall is to enhance the team’s defensive side. Kendall is also an average hitter and hence is expected to help in both ways.

The team also has a group of extremely supportive young players for backing the team in the most crucial situations as well. Zack Greinke (26), Billy Butler (24) and Joakim Soria (26) are the team’s three musketeers with promising skills who can be relied easily for a better play in the season. Greinke is the current reigning winner of AL Cy Young award, while Soria has had a great score in the past seasons. Similarly, Butler has already led the team in RBIs (93), homers (21), batting average (.301), OPS (.853), on-base percentage (.362) and doubles (51). However, the Kansas City Royals wish Gordon to play big this season.
