AL East Preview – New York Yankees

After Winning the World Series last season, Yankees are high in spirit and undoubtedly top favorites for this season. With Five Championships and Seven Pennants under its belt the Yankees are used to the expectations of their fans and are always ready to fulfill their expectations by performing their best on the field.

With the top players like Joba Chamberlain, Jesus Montero, Phil Hughes and adding more players like Curtis Granderson,, Austin Jackson and Phil Coke. Curtis Ganderson is an all-rounder with outstanding Outfielder and excellent hitter. The Future Hitters in shape of Austin Jackson are a good option for Ganderson. Damso Martin can easy replace Phil Coke in the bullpen.

Andy Pettitte has been retained with $11.75 M contract with guaranteed Money and not on performance. Ian Kennedy was suffering from injuries and would be used as a backup and hence replaced with Ganderson in the deal.

Other players who are joining the Yankees are Nick Johnson and Javier Vazquez. Nick has been replaced in place for Matui and Javier Vazques is for Melky Cabrera, Aridys Vuzcaino, Boone Logan and Mike Dunn. Some Other New Players include Jamie Hoffman and Randy Winn.

Vazquez is the best #4 starter in MLB. He can be a good pitcher in any big game whenever needed.

For 2010 Season the team has stabilized their rotation adding Vasquez and Ganderson. Team has improved to a great extent post the World Series Title. Even if any of the player fails to perform they have a backup for each one. Looking at the strength of the Team it would not be a surprise if they evolve as the winners for the current season too not only for the East Division but for World Series Too.
