NL East – Washington Nationals
Just before the 2010 season commences, one of the top questions encircling the Washington Nationals is whether they will be losing all their 100 games. Based on the records of the previous two seasons, the answer for this year as well might be a nod. However, the team is looking forward to a few changes and rotations that may help them to create a difference this year.
The Washington Nationals are going through a huge change in their lineup for the season. They are believed to be including Stephan Strasburg and also Chien-Ming Wang into their team. Stephan Strasburg is one of the biggest changes that could have happened with the Nationals for a better promising performance. Similarly the rotation of Wang, the two time 19 game winner is thought to bring in great luck to the team and hence a guaranteed better performance than the last seasons.
The team has already been focusing hard on its offensive side which is quite formidable. The offensive lineup of the team includes Adam Dunn, Nyjer Morgan and Ryan Zimmerman. In these conditions, if the team focuses more on improving its defense, there might be chances that it could finish at .500 rather than avoiding its consistent three digit loss. According to the Nationals manager, Jim Riggleman shifting Dunn from the left field would help the team. Based on the last year’s performance, Dunn played better at first base. Also, the inclusion of Pudge Rodriguez (the catcher) into the team will help slow down the opponents from running games and hence the entire team.
