NL West – San Diego Padres

In year 2008, the team’s revenue was reported to be more that 73 million dollars but it was cut down to the 40 million mark for the next season. In the same year, Brian Giles used his veto power to remain with the team. This cut-off by such a huge amount had become the topic of a debate and worry for every one during the training. If the same plan is continued this year also, it will only add to the disappointment of the fans. It is noteworthy that the attendance is already dropping at a fast pace since previous years. It is highly probable that it will be worse next year also.

If anyone starts to consider the reason of failure of the team, they will find numerous results. The team players suffered a spate of injuries and their bullpen fell on the required & hard times. They also had some very worst off-season acquisitions. And they were carrying a bunch of thirteen pitchers of the late. They were average on in home runs, but the whole team’s average was lowest in both the leagues and did not improve. In the year 2007, when the team lost the divisional race only by a margin of one game, everyone suggested for a significant move to strengthen the team and improving the chances of being a stronger player in the games. But still, there have not been any such move made. They also shocked the whole world by acquiring Adam Dunn from Cincinnati.
